Commercial Mindset and Innovation

Course Aims:

This course is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of how they can create greater value for the organisation by further developing their commercial awareness, by acting innovatively as an entrepreneur and by building upon core Leadership competencies.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course delegates will be able to:

  • Develop a greater understanding of the importance of maintaining a commercial mindset.
  • Understand the key drivers of value.
  • Consider the value proposition of the organisation and articulate it to their customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Set up an innovative mindset within the business.
  • Grow behaviours and competencies to support change within their teams.
  • Understand and consider risk and reward.

Duration/Location:

  • 1 day/In house training or online training course / 2 x 3 hour consultant facilitated virtual training sessions

  • Getting organised: Where do you spend your time?
  • Working on your job rather than in your job
  • What could you do differently?
  • Minimum Viable product and Voice of the Customer techniques (MVP/VOC).
  • Persona process to look at your customer needs through their own lens.
  • Building on your core competence
  • How to innovate
  • Value propositions: Is it clear? Is it motivating?
  • But not at any cost! An introduction to risk
  • Types of risk and risk assessment
  • The critical few – how to remain focused.
  • Transferring learning back to the workplace
